Recognizing the spirit of generosity
The Alma Lee Loy Legacy Society of the Indian River Community Foundation was established in February 2011 to honor donors who entrust the Community Foundation to administer a portion of their entire philanthropic legacy plans. Members of the Legacy Society are special people who have made planned gifts today that will provide significant benefits to our community in the future.
How legacy society gifts work
As a Legacy Society member, you may determine and designate the use of the distributions from their future gifts or leave the distributions to the discretion of the Indian River Community Foundation Board of Directors. Your Legacy Society gift may be added to any of the Community Foundation’s existing funds or used to establish a new fund.
These gifts may take the form of bequests, charitable remainder trusts, gifts of life insurance or other charitable planned gifts. The only requirement is a statement of intent to leave a gift to the Community Foundation. No further documentation, detail on the amount or type of gift is required. You also have the option to remain anonymous if desired.
