Coming Soon: Indian River Insights
Over the years, Indian River Community Foundation has developed several tools and resources that use data to help donors practice more effective philanthropy. Our online Nonprofit Search helps donors find, learn about, and give to local charities that meet the highest standards for transparency and accountability. Publications like Time and Treasure and Community Needs in Indian River County 2025 inform donors about Indian River County nonprofits and the needs they address. Indian River Indicators is our community needs database measuring community health and prosperity.

We know that data can lead to results and impact. To inspire more generosity throughout our community, however, we believe that data needs a story. That is why we’re excited to announce the launch of a new storytelling initiative called Indian River Insights.
Each month, we’ll deliver a selection of stories that bring community data to life. This month, we’re looking at homelessness from three angles. Our story about evictions zeroes in on the moment when a family goes from housed to unhoused. Our second story explores an exciting new collaboration by local organizations to prevent homelessness through early intervention. Finally, we’ll look at a creative solution to help a homeless person overcome a common barrier to housing. In the future, we’ll bring you stories about health, education, and economic development in addition to housing.
We’re confident the stories we share will help you become better informed and enrich your understanding of how nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, and public support all work together to improve the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors. We hope the stories we share will inspire you to become curious and to become involved. We all know already that Indian River County is a special place. We believe that together we can make it better. Click here for a sneak preview of our first edition.
