Community Foundation Awards $116,000 to 5 Local Nonprofits
Indian River Community Foundation awarded grants totaling $116,000 to five nonprofit charitable organizations serving Indian River County. The grants were reviewed by a Grants Committee comprised of volunteers Suzanne Bertman, Pat Brier, Jake Fojtik, Dawn Michael, and Ken Mindt.
The grants were awarded from the Community Enrichment Fund and included the following:
- $30,000 to Gifford Youth Achievement Center for the Youth Employability Program
- $26,000 to Float Hope for Monthly Swimming Lessons
- $25,000 to The Buggy Bunch for the Thriving Families Program
- $25,000 to Dogs for Life for the Service and Veteran Dog Training Program
- $10,000 to Octavian Village for EDUC8 AI Tutoring




While most of the Community Foundation’s grants are awarded by clients through donor advised funds, Indian River Community Foundation’s competitive grant program is made possible through the generosity of anonymous donors to several grantmaking funds, including the Community Enrichment Fund.
