IRCF Awards Childcare Resources $25,000
Founded in 1994, Childcare Resources of Indian River elevates and promotes the highest quality early childhood development and education in Indian River County, focusing on economically challenged children and families.
Indian River Community Foundation recently awarded Childcare Resources $25,000 from the Community Enrichment Fund to support their Conscious Discipline program. Conscious Discipline is a comprehensive emotional intelligence and classroom management system that integrates all domains of learning into the curriculum, supporting children’s social-emotional well-being and academic success. Conscious Discipline facilitates opportunities for teachers and students to build their social-emotional competence through direct, purposeful, and meaningful rituals and interactions. Conscious Discipline is evidence-based, with results showing improved emotional and social behaviors of students. This collaborative program focuses on three main components: lead teacher training, group coaching sessions, and conscious discipline action teams.
Indian River Community Foundation’s discretionary grantmaking is aligned with a vision of a more healthy, prosperous, and generous Indian River County community. Grantmaking priorities are informed by the findings of the most recent community needs assessment and the most current data and information collected on Indian River Indicators.
