IRCF Awards Crossover Mission $25,000
Crossover Mission empowers kids to become successful adults through a program of year-round basketball and one-to-one academic mentoring. The organization provides experiences that can shape the students’ vision about what is possible in their own education and careers.
IRCF recently awarded Crossover Mission $25,000 from the Community Enrichment Fund to support their Volunteer Coordinator. Grant funds will be used to manage volunteer on-boarding, background checks, safe behavior training, training in tech applications, matching, and daily schedules for students and volunteers.
Founded in 2014, Crossover Mission organizes year-round, research-based programming for both boys and girls in three areas: 1) one-to-one academic mentoring that carefully matches a student athlete with an empathic adult; 2) elite-level basketball training and player development; and 3) high school graduation, college and career readiness for 8th-12th graders.
Indian River Community Foundation’s discretionary grantmaking is aligned with a vision of a more healthy, prosperous, and generous Indian River County community. Grantmaking priorities are informed by the findings of the most recent community needs assessment and the most current data and information collected on Indian River Indicators.
