IRCF Awards Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition $25,000
Established in 1993, Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition establishes and supports a local system of care that optimizes the health of moms, babies, and their families living in Indian River County. IRCF recently awarded Healthy Start $25,000 to support the Healthy Communities program.
The Healthy Communities program provides community education, specifically surrounding preconception health, safe baby, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, substance use, motivational interviewing, and bereavement. This program is intended to increase local capacity to address the mental, physical, and emotional needs of pregnant mothers, partners, and families through direct education and outreach. To date, Healthy Communities has trained over 1,000 community members on topics aligned to improve maternal/child/family outcomes.
Indian River Community Foundation’s discretionary grantmaking is aligned with a vision of a more healthy, prosperous, and generous Indian River County community. Grantmaking priorities are informed by the findings of the most recent community needs assessment and the most current data and information collected on Indian River Indicators.
IRCF is holding informational sessions for nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations serving Indian River County who are interested in applying for a competitive grant. If interested, please call 772.492.1407 or email Brooke Sauserman to reserve your spot. Please read our Guidelines before registering.
