IRCF Awards Octavian Village $10,000

Jeff Pickering, Kevin Barry, David Cicco, and Shayla Macias

Established in 2021, Octavian Village was created to increase educational equity throughout Florida's Treasure Coast and beyond. The organization focuses on developing and maintaining high-quality, low-cost, and replicable interventions to address educational gaps for our future leaders.

Indian River Community Foundation recently awarded Octavian Village $10,000 from the Community Enrichment Fund to help support the Educ8 AI program which is an innovative virtual academic platform designed to bridge learning gaps and inspire future success by connecting 6th–8th grade students with highly qualified college and graduate student tutors from across the country. This program provides rigorous, personalized math instruction alongside meaningful mentorship, creating an accessible and engaging learning environment for middle school youth. Through live tutoring sessions, on-demand academic support, and interactive skill-building tools, Educ8 AI helps students strengthen core math competencies, build confidence, and develop real-world problem-solving skills.

"Octavian Village was founded on the belief that potential is everywhere—but opportunity isn’t. We pair strong community support with early academic foundations to help students thrive." - Dr. Cortez L. Brown, Founder & Board Chair of Octavian Village.

Indian River Community Foundation’s discretionary grantmaking is aligned with a vision of a more healthy, prosperous, and generous Indian River County community. Grantmaking priorities are informed by the findings of the most recent community needs assessment and the most current data and information collected on Indian River Indicators
