IRCF Awards The Arc of Indian River County $30,685.90

Established in 1975, The Arc of Indian River County supports and empowers individuals with special needs to achieve their life goals. Indian River Community Foundation recently awarded The Arc $30,685.90 to meet the remaining 10% match of the Florida Department of Transportation Grant Program for two wheelchair accessible vans.

These vehicles will be added to the current fleet, providing safe, reliable and fully accessible transportation for approximately 85 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These individuals depend on The Arc of IRC for daily access to employment, Adult Day Training Program, medical and therapeutic appointments, recreation and community outings, personal banking and shopping, visits to the Social Security office, as well as other essential appointments and activities. These two vehicles will expand The Arc's ability to meet the growing mobility needs of the individuals they serve.

Indian River Community Foundation’s discretionary grantmaking is aligned with a vision of a more healthy, prosperous, and generous Indian River County community. Grantmaking priorities are informed by the findings of the most recent community needs assessment and the most current data and information collected on Indian River Indicators

IRCF is holding informational sessions for nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations serving Indian River County who are interested in applying for a competitive grant. If interested, please call 772.492.1407 or email Brooke Sauserman to reserve your spot. Please read our Guidelines before registering.
