IRCF Awards The Salvation Army of Indian River County $25,000

The Salvation Army of Indian River County operates with the mission to meet human needs without discrimination. Indian River Community Foundation recently awarded the Salvation Army of IRC $25,000 from the Community Enrichment Fund to support the Social Services Program.

The Social Services Program provides emergency financial assistance, case management services, and food assistance to families and individuals in Indian River County. The program exists to assist with the current emergency basic human needs of the household. Case managers work with participants to determine the best type of assistance required to resolve the immediate personal crisis, all without discrimination. The program provides direct financial assistance to the vendors on behalf of the client for rent/mortgage and utilities (electricity/water). Financial assistance may also be provided for education/work-related expenses, prescriptions, or daycare. Assistance is given on a one-time basis to households that can show a loss of income due to situations such as a layoff, reduced work hours, medical needs, or an unexpected increase in expenses for the month.

Indian River Community Foundation’s discretionary grantmaking is aligned with a vision of a more healthy, prosperous, and generous Indian River County community. Grantmaking priorities are informed by the findings of the most recent community needs assessment and the most current data and information collected on Indian River Indicators.

IRCF is holding informational sessions for nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations serving Indian River County who are interested in applying for a competitive grant. If interested, please call 772.492.1407 or email Brooke Sauserman to reserve your spot. Please read our Guidelines before registering.
