About Us

Indian River Community Foundation was founded in 2008 with a mission of building a better community through donor-driven philanthropy. With assets of around $100 million, the Community Foundation and its clients have awarded over $130 million in grants, mostly to local nonprofit organizations.

Despite challenges presented by the pandemic, the Community Foundation’s 2023-2024 fiscal year was another of strong growth, increased financial stability, consistent service to clients and local charities, and meaningful community impact through grantmaking and launch of Indian River Indicators.

Most Community Foundation grants are awarded from charitable giving accounts established and advised by local individuals and families. Thanks to generous contributions from anonymous local philanthropists, Community Foundation is also able to annually award a limited number of competitive grants.
