Youth Sailing Foundation Capital Campaign
Youth Sailing Foundation of Indian River County works to provide Indian River County with educational, recreational, and competitive sailing programs for all ages in a fun and safe environment. Youth Sailing Foundation (YSF) is currently in the final stages of a $3.6 million dollar capital campaign to build a community sailing center on 2.4 acres of waterfront property. They have raised $3.2 million and expect to complete funding by the end of May 2023. They have also created a goal to raise $500,000 as a maintenance endowment fund between completing the project funding in May of 2023 and the grand opening in late summer 2025.
The community sailing center will anchor a 2.4-acre recreational park with 500 feet of unobstructed waterfront. The property has been fenced-off from the VB Waste Water Treatment Plant and the park is open to the public. Ground breaking is planned for late summer 2024 with completion in summer 2025. The building and park will serve as both a sailing and educational hub for Vero Beach and Indian River County for generations to come. The opening of the community center will allow Youth Sailing Foundation (YSF) to greatly expand their youth and adult programs.
The community sailing center and marine recreational park is a multi-generational project. The building is designed to stand for 100 years and will serve as a cultural and recreational hub for our entire community.
Youth Sailing Foundation is also a part of our Endowment Partners Program (EPP). The purpose of the EPP is to help local charities plan for their long-term sustainability by growing a permanent endowment fund. During a 12-month program, participants learn about endowments, planned giving, investment management and marketing solutions that inspire loyal donors to make planned gifts from their estates. The program is coordinated by IRCF team member Yamilet Cendejas.
